Between June and September 2022, the Hortensia Herrero Foundation presented an installation by British artist Ron Arad at the Marina de Valencia.
This monumental circular piece, 8 metres high and 10 metres in diameter, was encircled by a “Curtain Call” onto which video art works by international artists, including Mat Collishaw, Greenaway and Javier Mariscal, were projected.
How we transformed the venue into a cultural landmark
Content design and mediation
The installation featured a total of five video projections. Transformer and Sordid Earth were the contributions of British artist Mat Collishaw. One of these works, created especially for the exhibition, immersed the viewer in a journey through Valencia’s Fallas festival, with images of the cremà and fireworks.
Colours are always beautiful, by designer Javier Mariscal, presented typographic shapes followed by animated characters, including the mascot Cobi, dancing to the flamenco guitar of Niño Josele.
The Greenaway & Greenaway brothers created a film that fractured and reprojected images onto the immense screen. The exhibition opened with an introductory video inspired by iconic images of Valencia.
